How the class of 1984 remembers Mark:Mark was literally the funniest person I have ever met. I had the honor of being in the same homeroom as him (Mrs. Kirkman - Room 106). There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't do something in homeroom to make me laugh. I didn't get to see him very often after we graduated, but when I did he always got me laughing so hard that I had tears streaming down my cheeks. He was a great guy and I'll really miss him. - Scott Leatherland
I remember Mark from grade school (Cynthia Heights), our mother's had a car pool together in Kindergarten, and in 6th grade he was my first boyfriend I "went with". We were in homeroom (Mr. Baily's) one afternoon waiting for the bell to ring, to go home, when I felt something on my back, it was then that some other girls notice that Mark had put his arm around me and they embarrassed him and me about it for a week, but he always had some funny come back for them. I will really miss him. - Roxann Hollerbach Weyer
Mark was the guy who could always make you laugh! I will miss him and our old gang of troublemakers, I think I'm to blame for most of the 'trouble'. I will always remember him and all of the old times. I always had a blast when Mark, Chris Byrnes, and I would have sleepovers at Mark's house, [his house was the nicest, and his family was the coolest]. We would stay up all night playing Nintendo, [Frogger, and the one with the guy swinging on a vine, I think it was called Pitfall], listening to Billy Squire, Devo, and Aldo Nova, lighting our farts, and sampling his father's chewing tobacco and my father's liquor. I dug up a couple of old pics of Mark I will try and post sometime. Mark, Goodbye old buddy! - Rob Greenfield
Mark Phillips was my best friend in the whole world from the first week of kindergarten at Cynthia Heights, thru graduation at Reitz. I have tons of memories of Mark. My best memory though is all the times he, my self, and Rob Greenfield used to sneak out at night and walk for miles. We walked all over the west side smoking cigarettes and finding any mischief we could get into. Those were the pre-license days. Mark could make you laugh at anything, he was the most humorus person I've ever known. I miss you old buddy, you taught me more things about life than anyone else in this world - Chris Byrne
